Internet is becoming an important part of society and it is getting better by the hour. I live in an apartment that has a website where residents post notices, receive notices. I have almost all my friends on facebook and have gotten in touch with some more. I blog, share, and get news to my liking all with the help of bunch of useful web sites (or web apps).

This blog will be about you, us, we, people, users, etc. Because the definitions are all merging. Information is a tricky business, and when you add technology to it, it becomes interesting.

Let us clear some fundamental aspects of the technology and society first and we can kick start this tremendous journey.

Today, while there may be debate about this, the world is definitely moving towards a more "feeling" way than a more "struggling" way. Look at the advertisements and movies, things that usually symbolize a pattern and its moving towards more "feeling" world.

The internet has started its journey as well with media becoming a power to reckon with. Social networking websites have proven that we are a species that has a definite space for feelings. The success of facebook is the actually the sucess of Maslow, because it proves that no matter where you are, the move towards belonging is happening everywhere.

It should not come as a surprise then that as more and more people become "accepted" and find their voice on the internet, the world will really become more pluralistic as opposed to now. The question is the choice we make today on how we want to build the internet - the virtual world, or a mirror of the actual world?

The choice point starts with the user.
